Lisa Edelstein is an American actress, best known for her role on House, a Fox medical series, House. Her family was from Wayne and was raised in a strict Jewish tradition. As a teenager, 18, she emigrated in New York City to study at the Tisch School for the Arts. However, very quickly, she became active in the club scene, making enough splashes that she was seen by the media and while also becoming aware of the devastating effect of AIDS. In the end, she utilized her education along with her fame and training to write and compose the musical Positive Me and was also in it. The first time she was hired, she got her first position with MTV as presenter of Awake on The Wild Side shortly after. Once it went off the air, she was able to appear in films and television production, initially in short roles but then gradually becoming an actor.
