
Julie Ellen "Tawny" Kitaen (August 5 1961 - May 7 2021) was an American actress, model, and media personality. Her career began as a television actress acting in the television series Malibu (1983) and California Girls (1985). Also, she starred in Gwendoline in the comedienne film the Land of the Yik-Yak (both 1984) and Bachelor Party (1985). Kitaen has gained a wide recognition for her work in numerous music videos featuring heavy metal, including Ratt's (1984) "Back for More" Whitesnake's ("Still of the Night") and Whitesnake ?Ts ("Is This Love") (all 1987). In the late 2000s, Kitaen began appearing on reality television shows, including Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) which highlighted Kitaen's battle with substance abuse. Julie Kitaen was born in San Diego, California, in 1961. Kitaen is the eldest of three children of Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) who was a housewife as well as a contestant in a beauty contest once as well as Terry Kitaen. Kitaen works for a company that makes neon signs. Kitaen's mother was from Scottish and Irish descent, while her father was of Russian Jewish background. Kitaen was educated Jewish. At the age of 12, she began use the nickname "Tawny" and invented on her own initiative. When she was a young girl she struggled with dyslexia, which led to her to drop out of Mission Bay High School. Seven years later, at the age of 14, she had backstage access to a Peter Frampton concert at Balboa Stadium.[8She was a witness to Penny Frampton receiving an extravagant treatment, and she wanted to be like her.
